PETG + carbon fibre print settings

PETG with chopped carbon fibre. Keeps PETG's toughness and chemical resistance, adds stiffness and a matte finish, and strings far less.

Abrasive — hardened nozzle required
Nozzle240–270 °C
Bed70–90 °C
Part cooling30–50 %
EnclosureHelps
Drying65 °C for 8 h
Shrinkage~0.3 %, less than plain PETG
Density1.30 g/cm³

Enclosure: Works open, but an enclosure improves layer bonding and cuts warping.

Bed surface & adhesion

Textured PEI works well. On smooth PEI or glass use a glue stick as a release agent — PETG can bond hard enough to tear the sheet.

Retraction starting points

Direct drive0.5–2 mm
Bowden3–6 mm
Retraction speed25–45 mm/s

Prone to stringing — favour the higher distance, raise travel speed, and dry the filament if it has absorbed moisture.

These are widely-published starting points for the generic material, not a specification. Individual spools vary by brand, colour and additive package — always defer to the figures printed on your spool.
