ABS print settings

Heat-resistant and machinable, but it warps hard and the fumes need extraction.

Nozzle230–260 °C
Bed90–110 °C
Part cooling0–20 %
EnclosureRequired
Drying65 °C for 4 h
Shrinkage~0.8% — design clearances with it in mind
Density1.04 g/cm³

Enclosure: Expect warping, splitting layers or failed prints without one.

Bed surface & adhesion

ABS slurry (scrap ABS dissolved in acetone) or PEI with a hot bed. A brim is close to mandatory on tall parts.

Retraction starting points

Direct drive0.5–2 mm
Bowden3–6 mm
Retraction speed25–45 mm/s

Low retraction usually suffices; an enclosure also reduces stringing.

These are widely-published starting points for the generic material, not a specification. Individual spools vary by brand, colour and additive package — always defer to the figures printed on your spool.
